Ohayo Con Report

So, it started all on Thursday night, really. I was doing last minute cosplay stuff, such as using sharpie markers to dye my Sloth (from Fullmetal Alchemist) dress to a deeper red. This was about the fourth attempt, but the dye took (so I thought), even if it did make a horrible mess of the bathroom sink (the tiles it came right off of). So, I scrubbed at it and scrubbed at it some more until it looked decent, and then toddled off to bed.

Then my bed broke on me.

Now, for those of you who I haven't told stories to, let it be known that I break beds far too often for someone that doesn't have an highly active and kinky sex life.

Anyways, I took this as a sign from higher powers that I simply wasn't meant to sleep that night and ended up scrubbing the sink some more and panicking about how it looked. Read a bit of fic too, but when don't I?

Car ride out was great fun with willag  was great fun.

Hit up the dealer's room first and got a gorgeous FFVII doujinshi by Yubinbasya that has color on every page. Met up with _yaten_kou_ ,  cascader7 ,  trombonesonmars ,  another friend and other people later. Then came the hotel room mess, which I shall just end up saying that a hotel later we ended up in the Presidential suite. I vote that next time we do something like that we get more people to split the cost, but it was pretty nice.

Went around as Yuuko from xxxHolic for the night and had a lot of fun. The yaoi panel was kinda bad, but it had some fun points like trombonesonmars  saying her favorite yaoi manga is Animal X. She got asked if it had furries. (Which it doesn't. Just hermaphrodites and were-dinosaurs. And a Canadian Zombie squad.) Also went dancing until some person passed out at the dance, and the room got cleared out. The less said about my opinion on ravers who can't remember to drink water, the better. (To be fair, I'm not sure if that had been the issue.)

Saturday was pretty good as well, once I got over the Sloth cosplay failure. The sharpies didn't take *sigh*. So after spending about half an hour and maybe a little longer in tears over that, I took a bath in the awesome jacuzzi bathtub (I had a foot worth of soap bubbles in there for a bit) I went back out as Yuuko in a much better mood. The skits and cosplays were great, and some of my friends were in one and they won best of division.

That night, I wandered around with an awesome Fai cosplayer until a little before 1am, and then went back to the room. Talked with _yaten_kou_ and another person for a few hours and then played Death Note Mafia until about 5:30.

I spent part of Sunday as a zombie, but had fun then too and ended out the con with AMV showing.

All in all, very good and I had fic ideas on the ride back.
