I'm outraged here. Hell, I'm in cold fury right now.

The reason.

Not only is the crime horrific, it's the fact this is the first I've heard of it. I live in Indiana. This, as of now --as far as I know, has not been picked up by any statewide major media, and of course not any national papers. Not one article in the Indianapolis Star. There seems to have been a small story on channel 13, the NBC station, out of Indianapolis (I don't get that channel, so I'm not at all sure). Other than that, and papers in the local area of the murder, nothing.

I hear about this on the internet, from someone on my f-list, who lives any number of states away.

I hear about it two months later.

*RAGES*

Yes, I'm writing the paper. Yes, I'm writing the TV station I do get. Hell, yes, I'm writing my State Rep and Congressman.

Okay, this? Fucking scary.

Gist of the article is that Australia is banning books and films that glorify terrorism for entering the country. It's sort of amazing that -as far as I know- the USA has not taken the same steps, and I pray that they never will.

I value free speech, greatly. Whether or not I choose to listen to someone is another thing entirely. Stuff like this makes me really nervous.

Also, this is so not the way to do it. You should be educating people, not trying to keep them away from knowledge.
