Summary: On a mission, Axel convinces Roxas there's time to kill and even presents a way to kill it.

"Fuck," I swore as Axel tugged on my arm, stopping me. "What the hell--"

"Not enough," he answered languidly. "Should wait until there's a least two thousand. Superior's gettin' antsy, says he needs more."

I looked down at the swarming Heartless and the distant town being destroyed, more being created. The castle that had been central to the town had been the first to go. The walls of it were teeming with Heartless, almost solidly black, and more than a few neo-shadows among them.

"Looks fine to me."

"Not even a thousand."

I looked at the bobbing Heartless, watched them swarm, and then reform into another skittering mob.

"No way you can actually count them."

"Hey, look, Rox, I--"

"Roxas," I corrected, almost like it was second nature. I wondered if my once-other had a thing about nicknames, or whether it was just another thing I could chalk up to my dislike of Axel's inanity taking effect.

"Look, Roxas," Axel drawled out the name, like he was coating each letter with honey. "I look at it like this, we can go in now and kill them all or we can go in later and kill them all. Either way, we fight and it's gonna be a bloody slaughter or would be, if the Heartless bled. We might as wait and go in for maximum effect."

"Lazy," I snorted, sitting back down, and tugging back my arm.

After another long moment, he let go. I wonder what he thought I was going to do. Superior put him in charge of the mission. If it doesn't go like he wanted, it's on Axel's head, not mine. It's not even my tenth real mission. No need to go out, Keyblades whirling.

"Practical," said Axel after a long moment, long enough that I didn't know what he was talking about.

"Huh?"

"I don't think we should chase our tails over this. Wait and be sure."

"Right." I rolled my eyes and lay back down. I wondered if we were going to be here at sunset still. The World That Never Was lacked those, and for some odd reason, I thought it was an oversight in its design. Maybe I just had some fucked up circadian need for it, or some shit like that.

Axel nudged me with his elbow. "No, seriously. Man, you're uptight."

I turned my head to look at him, squinting one eye shut against the sun.

"It's all about the mission to you. Can't you at least try to have something else? Maybe pick up lock-picking or something."

I looked back at the sky. "Maybe I want to get the mission done faster so I can get back to my top secret hobby."

Axel let out something between a snort and a laugh and ended up with a hacking cough. "If you've picked up a hobby, I'd eat my coat."

"I could have."

"Uh-huh. You're too repressed to do that."

"I'm not repressed," I said, and I knew it was too quickly, even as the words left my mouth.

I could feel Axel smirking.

"Ohhh, I think you are."

"Nobody, no emotions."

Axel's smirk grew, and I could feel his eyes on me, searing my skin.

"Sexual repression. Really, Roxas, I thought you'd know. We can feel some things."

The games the Organization played with the body had long since showed me how they would use it to replicate emotion in some faint facsimile. Sex was the most common, but I'd seen Larxene eat chocolate by the pound trying to fake some type of happiness or another.

"Not interested," I said flatly.

Axel laughed, that fake purring laugh he had to have practiced to get right. "Of course you aren't. The real question is if your body is."

I made the mistake of looking at him.

With his green eyes narrowed and dangerous, he reached out brushing just behind my ear and then flicking back up with his nail before stroking harder down my neck.

I licked my suddenly dry lips.

He slithered closer and lapped at my tongue. His other hand was bolder, he slid it down, unzipping my coat and snaking it up my shirt, touching my chest.

I broke the awkward, pseudo-kiss, panting.

"Well, Roxas?" he asked, still damn near purring my name.

I took two deep breaths and nodded.

I knew sure as I had no heart that it wasn't a smart move, but still... Something about Axel called to me and I couldn't explain it. With no heart to blame and with no possible logical reason to, kissing him back was almost liberating.

He rolled me on to him, unzipping his coat to lay on the grass under us. He smoothed it out, like it would make a difference to me, the heat in my belly growing further downwards and stronger still.

With impatience at his useless actions, I took his hands and pinned them above his head, kissing him, trying to find that almost-feeling again.

He sucked on my tongue and pulled to the side. I balanced on my knees and tried to move his head back, but he slipped his hands out from under my grip.

"This really is your first time," he said, with something that I might have taken to be wonder, if he'd had a heart.

"So?" I said.

He laughed and the purr of before was gone. "You kiss wrong. Give and take here, baby. Emotions are like that and so is sex."

He grabbed me before I could move back, brought his lips to mine, and kissed me again. His tongue swept in, running along my teeth before darting to mine. I tried to copy his motions. After a moment he hummed and withdrew.

"Better, now, with a little more."

He kissed me again, rubbing his hands along my chest, up and down, and it was like every nerve I had there, plus a few spontaneously created just for this was alight with fire. Moaning, I arched into him. He rubbed harder, adding just a hint of nails. I dug his shoulders into the ground, kissing him harder.

"See what I mean?" he asked. That too smug look on his face was gone and I knew I'd won there.

In answer, I slid his shirt up, bunching it past his nipples. I ran a hand over them, noting how his eyes followed my fingers and the sudden stillness of his hand on my chest. I rolled one between my fingers and he whimpered, his hands going up to claw against my back.

"Do you know what you're getting into?" he asked, voice low and urgent, his eyes shadowed with bright pinpricks as he turned his head to keep from moaning when I repeated the motion.

"I do," I said and licked at his left one before nibbling the right.

"Fuck," he breathed. "You might."

I grinned, the feeling low and tight. "I never bite off more than I can chew." To emphasize my point, I put all my weight on my arms and leaned on his shoulders again, pinning him still as best I could, laving at his nipples. With a moment, he was keening, pulling at my shirt trying to find purchase on me as I shuddered off his grip with low pluses of heat beating down my spine each time he touched my back again.

"Left pocket," he panted.

I pulled away, and he moaned, nearly convulsing as he tried to keep my mouth in place.

"Lube, left pocket," he repeated, his hips rocking.

I flipped a flap of the coat right side up, and scrambled at the pocket as Axel tore off my shirt. His shirt followed and then he shucked off his boots, before attacking mine.

I held the small tube, looking at it, wondering which world it was from until he pulled at my pants, one hand dipping under the waist band to feel my erection, running up and down it.

Gasping, I lay back, staring at the sky, trying desperately not to come then and there.

Another zipper being undone, and Axel's pants sailed over my head and he lay down on me, naked, his cock poking my thigh as he slid off my pants carefully easing them back, never losing contact with my body. As he slid one bunched leg off completely, he licked at my cock, lightning quick. I didn't even notice, before there was a cooling trial left behind and I was missing the sensation. I bit my lip, stopping the whine that I knew was building.

"Now what?"

Axel smiled, leaning in for another kiss, rocking his hips against mine, our cocks barely brushing. "Now, we get to the fun part," he said. "I'm gonna top, but you get to have me."

Blinking, I tried to untangle his words, the throbbing at the thoughts brought by the lowness in his voice not helping.

Before I could figure it out or ask, he'd flipped open the cap on the lube and his slick palm and clever fingers were working themselves on my cock.

Then, he looked at me, holding my eyes with his as he kissed me, neither of us daring to shut them.

He carefully balanced over me and slid down, one hand holding my cock steady.

"Don't... move," he grunted, an expression of pained ecstasy on his face.

I could barely think, only registering his words after I'd trusted once, blindly, the feeling of fitting all too tight and wonderful

I screwed my eyes shut, trying not to think or feel, but my eyes snapped open when I felt Axel shuddering around me. Desperately, I picked a cloud out of the sky, trying to memorize its shape. Thunderhead, growing, rain soon, was as far as the thought got before Axel shivered again and stroked my sides from my waist halfway to my knees.

Struggling, I thrust into him, matching his rocking within three stokes, before he shuddered and shifted slightly, his eyes snapping wider. He guided one of my hands to his cock, overlaying it with his, moving it with his.

He rocked again and I met him, a breathless cry tearing its way from my throat.

"Come on, all for me, Roxas. All for me."

With my back arching up, I came as he spoke, panting with need that I still couldn't put reason to.

His hand over mine, I pumped him, almost whimpering at the feel of still being in him. When he came --moments or seconds later, I can't say-- he shook, slipped off me, and laid on me, pillowing his head on my chest, an arm around my shoulder, sticky with sweat.

The clouds moved across the sky.

"So," I said slowly. "That's what it's all about."

"No," said Axel, grinning and he looked at me, sharp chin digging into my chest. He drew himself up, and then bought his lips down to my ear, breathing softly, "Baby, that was all about us."
