Haiku

Ah, today I sat

In the library too long

Reading poetry

 

A stripped branch outside

Is lonely and forgotten

Still waiting for spring

 

Not so far I see

Dark clouds, low to the ground

Is it to rain yet?

 

Some of these I wish

I could write in Japanese

No dictionary

 

The proud gander stalks

All around the retention pond

Flightless, feathers molted

 

A single pine—

The grass over its old roots

Is greener in spring

Thanks, but the number of beats are off in a few. I was very bored before I wrote these, and had just read a book of haiku.
